Place Champions’ Forum

On Friday 26 September 2014, Place Leaders Asia Pacific and Gold Coast City Council hosted our Premium and Prime (formerly Gold and Silver) designated Place Champions.

Gold Coast CBD: Southport
Beyond incentives, creating a business precinct

Southport is undergoing a major ‘place-lift’
Key drivers are $5 billion dollars in public and private investment recently complete or underway including:
$1.6B Light Rail
$6M Chinatown
$7M TAFE Redevelopment
$49M Aquatic Centre
$170M in proposed development
$65M Broadwater parklands.

This forum provided a great opportunity for place practitioners to share wisdom and be inspired around this incredibly exciting place evolution in the heart of Australia’s second largest city council area.

The annual Place Champions Forum is a much valued part of Place Leaders’ program. Attendance at this event was free but limited to the designated ‘Place Champions’ of Place Leaders’ corporate members. Subject to numbers, there was limited capacity for individual members to attend at $300 (plus GST).

A copy of the flyer for the session can be found below.  An overview of the day itself will feature in an upcoming edition of The Place Leader e-news.
