Getting to Darwin

 

With the Northern Territory serviced by four domestic airlines and four international airlines, it is more convenient to access Darwin than you might think. From late 2024, new Darwin-Singapore flights open up a new one-stop option from Darwin to Europe and Asia via Singapore and makes it easier for visitors from from the UK, Europe and Asia to access the Northern Territory.

With the Place Leaders 2024 Awards and Urban Leaders' Summit commencing on the evening of Wednesday 2 April 2025, any of these flights will have you arriving in Darwin in plenty of time to jump off your plane, check-in to your accommodation, and get onto the water for climate resilient city showcase as seen from a sunset cruise on Darwin Harbour.​​​​​

​Prices are indicative as accessed from the Qantas / Jetstar website. You can sign-up for the Qantas 'Sales Fares' email alert and receive an update when fares to Darwin are on-sale. 

​Getting around Darwin

​​​​​​​

Darwin International Airport is located 12km (10 min drive) from the Darwin City Centre and Waterfront Precinct. Darwin and can be accessed by airport transfers, private car, car hire or taxi. 

​

You can expect to pay around $30.00 to $35.00 for a trip between the airport and the Darwin CBD.

​

 

A private hire car rank is also located at the front of the terminal. Private hire vehicles are available for hire (without prior booking) with the price negotiated between the driver and passenger. A $4.00 exit toll payable by the passenger applies on exit from the ranking lane.

 

 

The car rental counters are located at the Arrivals Hall near baggage collection on the ground floor.

​Departing Darwin

​

The Place Leaders 2024 Awards and Urban Leaders' Summit will wrap-up on the morning of Saturday 5 April 2025 with a Parap Village Markets tour and 'Coffee and Croissants' Presentation. You'll have time to enjoy the tour and presentation and make your way to Darwin Airport to catch any of these flights.​​
